Oceanário de Lisboa Tickets 2026: Book Online & Avoid the Queues

Updated: September 2026

Autumn is a great time to visit: school holidays have ended, crowds are lighter than summer, and the Oceanário is far less hectic on weekday mornings.

The Oceanário de Lisboa is one of Europe’s finest aquariums, and it draws serious crowds. On busy weekends and during Lisbon’s peak summer season, the ticket desk queue alone can run 30 to 45 minutes. Booking online costs the same or only marginally more, and it cuts that wait entirely. You scan your QR code and walk straight in.

Time of day matters too. Mornings right after opening (10:00) are the quietest. Afternoons from 14:00 onward, particularly on weekends, are the busiest. If you can choose, book an early slot.

What booking a ticket actually gets you

The Oceanário uses a timed-entry system for online bookings. You choose a date and entry window, receive a QR code, and use the dedicated ticket-holder entrance on arrival. You still pass through the main entrance, but you bypass the ticket purchase queue entirely. There’s no separate fast-track lane through the exhibits; the benefit is simply not standing in line before you get in.

Which ticket should you book?

For most visitors, a standard timed-entry ticket from any of the main platforms is the right call. Prices are broadly similar across GetYourGuide, Tiqets, Headout, and Musement, typically between €25 and €29 for adults, so the main variable is flexibility. GetYourGuide and Tiqets both offer free cancellation on most options.

Children under 3 enter free. Ages 4–12 pay a reduced rate; check the platform you book through for the current child price. Same-day tickets are usually available mid-week but sell out quickly at weekends. Book at least a day ahead in summer.

Getting there

The Oceanário sits in the Parque das Nações district, easily reached by metro from central Lisbon (Oriente station, Red Line, about 15 minutes from Baixa-Chiado). Planning more of Lisbon? Opening Hours & Best Time to visit Oceanário de Lisboa

The Oceanário de Lisboa is open daily from 10 AM to 8 PM, with last entry at 7 PM. It is open throughout the year, including public holidays, though hours may be reduced on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

The best time to visit is on a weekday morning, when crowds are at their lightest. Summer weekends and school holidays are the busiest periods, with queues forming at the entrance from mid-morning. Booking online in advance guarantees your entry slot and saves you waiting at the box office.

Allow one and a half to two hours for a thorough visit, including both the main tank and the four satellite ocean habitats.
