Torre de Belém Tickets Lisbon 2026: Book Timed Entry Online

Updated: September 2026

Good news for autumn visitors: September and October are some of the best months in Belém: warm weather, shorter queues than July and August, and better timed-entry availability.

Since its major conservation project and reopening in May 2026, Torre de Belém operates with strict timed entry and a daily cap of around 900 visitors. In peak summer months, slots sell out days in advance. Booking ahead is now effectively essential if you want to guarantee access.

When you book online, you arrive with a QR code and go directly to the ticket-holder entrance. No ticket desk queue, no hoping slots are still available on the day. You show up at your time, you go in.

Important: free entry on Sundays

Torre de Belém is free to enter every Sunday before 14:00. If your visit falls on a Sunday morning, you can walk in without booking, but free-entry Sundays are busy and the queue forms early. For any other day, or if you want a guaranteed slot, book a timed-entry ticket in advance.

Which ticket should you book?

Standard timed-entry tickets are available through GetYourGuide, Tiqets, Musement, and Headout. Prices range from €15 to €18 depending on the platform and any extras included. All options give access to all five floors of the tower. There’s no tiered access inside.

The tower is a compact space best explored independently; an audio guide is available inside. A standard timed-entry ticket is the right choice for almost everyone. If your plans might change, choose a platform with free cancellation: GetYourGuide and Tiqets both offer this. Same-day booking is possible mid-week; weekend and Monday slots sell out fastest.

Combining your Belém visit

The tower is a 10-minute walk from the Jerónimos Monastery, making Belém an easy half-day trip. Book Torre de Belém first thing (opens 09:30), then the monastery from 11:00. The Lisbon city guide has suggestions for a full day, including the Oceanário de Lisboa if you want to cross the city in the afternoon.
