Opening Hours & Best Time to visit Acropolis
Summer hours are from 8 am to 6 pm from 1 April to 31 October. Winter hours are 8 am to 5 pm from November 1 to March 31. On January 1st, March 25th, May 1st, Easter Sunday, and December 25th and 26th, the Acropolis is closed. The Acropolis is busiest between the hours of 11 AM and 2 PM, thus early in the day is the best time to visit. The Acropolis is most enjoyable to visit between the months of October and April; avoid going there in the summer because it is hot and there are a lot of people there. The optimum time to see the Acropolis is in the early hours of any weekday between the months of October and April.
How To get to Acropolis
Bus
Buses 230, 035, 040, 550, and A2 will take you to the Acropolis of Athens. Akropolē is the closest bus stop to the landmark.
Metro
Line M2 (red line) will get you to Acropoli, the closest metro station to the Acropolis of Athens. The monument is a 10-12 minute walk away. You can also take Line M3 (blue line) to Monastiraki or Line M1 (red line) to Thiseio.
Train
Train lines ⊓1A, ⊓3, & ⊓3B will get you to the Acropolis. The nearest train station is Akropoli.
