Moco Amsterdam is located in Villa Alsberg, a townhouse in the centre of Amsterdam that overlooks Museumplein. Eduard Cuypers, nephew of the famed Pierre Cuypers, designer of Amsterdam Central Station and the Rijksmuseum, designed the building in 1904. This privately owned property was one of the first family dwellings built along Museumplein, and it served as such until 1939. The property was eventually rented to monks who taught at Amsterdam’s Saint Nicolas School, and later turned into a law firm’s office.

The Moco Museum is an independent museum in Amsterdam and Barcelona that houses a diverse collection of inspiring modern, contemporary, and street art (Spain). Banksy, Jean-Michel Basquiat, JR, KAWS, Keith Haring, Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Yayoi Kusama, Mark Rothko, Andy Warhol, Studio Irma, and many others are among the artists represented in our collection. Moco provides guests with an unrivaled collection of art that allows them to reflect on modern life.
