About the Vincent van Gogh Museum
Home to the world’s largest collection of Vincent van Gogh’s paintings, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam transports visitors on a fascinating journey through the life of the artist and his contemporaries. The museum introduces the complete story: the artist, the context, Van Gogh’s personal ambitions, his emotions, the myths that surround him, and his influence right up until this very day. The Van Gogh Museum’s collection includes world-famous paintings such as Sunflowers, Almond Blossom, and The Potato Eaters. The museum also organizes three temporary exhibitions every year.
Current Exhibitions:
The Gasworks (until December 11th, 2022). An unconventional and somewhat ominous drawing from the series that Van Gogh made of The Hague. Especially for this exhibition, Marcel van Eeden made no less than six large charcoal drawings on canvas and a photo reportage, consisting of 27 black-and-white photographs.
Exhibition Golden Boy (until January 8th 2023). In autumn 2022, the Van Gogh museum presents the exhibition Golden Boy Gustav Klimt. Inspired by Van Gogh, Rodin, Matisse… about the artist Gustav Klimt (1862-1918) and the many artists that inspired him.
